A VISION without the ability to execute is probably HALLUCINATION

penang

went to penang for the very first time....=)

not for a vacation trip unfortunately...... parents has to meet a client here and i just came along w/ them ....

i'm not expecting to see something spectacular here since again, i'm not on a vacation trip..... just want to see penang, really....

never thought that penang actually was around 300km away or more from our house....but since the road was very good, it only took us 3 hours to get there...=) (it would normally take around 7 hours or more if you travel this distance in the philippines...lol...due to roads being narrow and bumpy maybe....and because of lots and lots of cars....)

sites that caught my eye while on the road....=)

very long bridge

i find georgetown (and some parts of penang island) to be more like the old cities in the Philippines actually due to these 19th century buildings that they have plus the narrow roads and the "busy-ness" of the city..... the only difference is that the malls were a bit less crowded, less organized and many stores in the mall were actually closed... malls in the philippines were booming....no signs of recession even if there is actually a recession going on.....

look at these...=)

sm mall of asia

(sorry for the very cute image)

no other mall comes close

=)

in the midst of a recession, this was built....=) so, is there really a recession??? the was by far, the biggest mall i've ever been to.....and by far, the most crowded place too!! actually, all the malls in the philippines, big or small, are crowded....that's the difference....

penang is a great city......sooo much history going on......just like intramuros.....

and to my delight, the food is great too!! thanks wiL for reminding me not to eat before arriving there...=)

found this by accident
we were lost
haha

uhmm....hehe what is this???

some more buildings that caught my eye.....

too bad we weren't able to visit some more places......penang hill and the beaches in the island could have been fun.....but since the hotels in penang are all fully booked right now due to some celebration, we're onle able to secure a room for a day. so we decided to just stay there for a night.....don't wanna sleep in the car you know.... =(

saw these stuff on a chinese newspaper in the hotel..... don't really know what those characters meant.....can't read chinese.....can't speak chinese....and i'm actually chinese by heritage......

on our way home....=(
